Carnifex is BROKEN?

Alright Pappa Nurgle says that they are the most broken single unit in the game. I was wondering what others thought.

I agree the are rough but the most broken I am not sure of.

Broken AND Busted.

Don't get me wrong the model is awesome as well as playing them, but the amount you can do with them is disgusting for the amount of point they are. They, on average, do more damage than a Monolith but can cost half the points and regain wounds not to mention wounds are much better than armor value. Now I'm not knocking on a FEX cause I love them but you also have the ability to field 6 I think in 40k, and unlimited in Apoc. witch is a very harsh and deadly thing.

haha well i believe vulcan hestan is more broken than a carnifex because of what he gives the army. i mean comon twin linked fire and death and on top of that there is also mastercrafted thunderhammers making the most broken unit in the space marine army list now and possibly the game more power. Also he has a 2 plus regular save with a 3 plus invulnarable. His weapon itself is deadly a mastercrafted relic blade with digital weapons alowing his to reroll one miss and one hit. and he comes to a whopping 190 pts wich should be pointing around 250

But you can only have one of him. A bug army can have 6 fexes.

well that is so but if there were multiple vulcans then that would be cool. But i believe he is the best independant special character well never mind abbadon puts a mix in that theory.

The Carnifex as a single model isn't what is broken. What is broken is the fact that there can be 6 of them in an army in addition to the 2 Hive Tyrants. That makes for 8 big nasty's running around. Vulcan and Abaddon are nasty to be sure. Even the Demon Princes are nasty. But no army has the capacity to field 8 big nastys like that. The IG can field tanks by the dozens...but they are vehicles aand one lucky shot can take out any vehicle. You will NEVER take a carnifex out in one shot. One on one, a Carnifex will destroy just about any vehicle it assaults. It can have a toughness of 7 and can be upgraded to inflict double wounds. So a 'Fex with 7 attacks that hits offers NO armor save and is potentially wounding 14 times. Considering that most units only have 10 models, that is pretty devestating.
