Christmas winter assault

On christmas eve i want to do a christmas themed mega battle. This mega battle will have many things that we all hate and love about these cold holiday times, but 40k style. The sceneario so far is a gigantic snowball fight in the snow with two bases on each side that both must capture. 1000 points each for this winter scenerio with a needed two troops and one HQ. It will start out with a winterstorm where your men are walking through feet of snow that means tanks and infantry must take difficult terrain checks to walk through the snow as well as a white out in the snow that will be deminstrated by night fight. Through the rest of the battle santa might come by and drop some presents that may help win the battle. Throughout the battle there will be a weather check to see if the storm gets worse. The game ends if one team captures the oposing teams base while holding thier own or else erradicating the other force. Santas presents may also help win beacuse some may be objectives. You have six turns to attempt to take the other base and at the end of it who has more objectives wins if not capturing the base or erradication all oppsing forces. Give comments for i am attempting to acually put this scenerio on paper for the battle on thursday. Comix Zone is only open till 6 so the battle will possibly start at 2 30 and run intill 5 45 giving us time to clean up so we are out by 6.

This is a good, solid idea. I like it. I'll try and be there.

I'll try to be there if my car wants to behave. A question though, because as everyone knows I like being difficult. I've read the GW winter rules last week but if you use your own rules then are skimmers still subject to the terrain checks?

yes they are still hurt buy the terrain check only when there is a storm for there is a whiteout so the driver cannot see out the window.

that was a completely retarded battle!!! we were down one player on the disorder side so we gave them 500 extra points each which gave them enough points to field heavies so lil john took 2 hive tyrants and 3 carnifexes which blew threw us like we werent even there! lol and big jon took 3 vindicators which pretty much didnt do a whole lot but they did enough... plus chris didnt even read the rules so we were lost.... lmfao but hey who woulda thought losing could be that fun?

10 wounds on a Hive Tyrant and the moron passed every single one of them. And I hate Gene Stealer's >.< ! If our side could field so many heavies maybe we could have done something. And those poor brave Guardians sticking around even though Vulcan ran like a wuss only to be blown to bits by Santa. He gonna pay what he owe!!!

Heck no. I'm not doing another one of those unless I can bring a snow brush, a Zamboni, and an extra large can of bug spray.
