Just a though
i was thinking of possible making the inside of a space ship game board(or multiple ones), and making some special rules for it, i was looking for suggestion, and if anyone would be interested in helping to paint/assemble, my ideas are to have one attacker and one defender, the defender would be allowed to deploy anywhere inside the ship, then the attackers will breach through one side ( this side being the outer side, and will be pre-established, and would be a d3 hit on any units in the room), and that it would be limited to walkers and infantry only, since it is a confined space, the map it self will be broken down into a series of small to moderate sized rooms with hall ways and all open doors, perhaps a large storage area or something of the like, any and all suggests, idea, and what every else you wanna say would be greatly apperiated

You want help...
If you want help building any of the scenery or anything let me know...I'd love to help out.
Re: Just a though
As far as rules... I've played on tables like that that use Cityfight rules. It can make for some pretty savage games.
Re: Just a though
I got the city fight rules and let me tell you they are all 4ok should be not to mention if you need help with terrain, i am notorious for building cinematic terrain and have made a lot of the stores terrain peaces. just ask some of the ppl at the store.
just a thought
Can't remember if there is a large enough building for this or not but another idea may be to construct the inside of a building that could be the locale of a final battle for some important relic or something of the sort that would fit in with one of the armies. The fight starts on a regular board with one attempting to reach this building and one defending it. The final fight would take place inside this building. Just an idea.

lol well actually GW just put out a dark angels fortress or something like that its pretty substantially large but i dont know the exact measurements tho
Re: Just a though
Great idea, some decent rules to add for Low Gravity & fighting in a Vacuum can be found on p271 (Evacuation mission) of the Full sized (hard covered) 5th Ed. Rulebook.
However, unless you have a place it set up long term, I would suggest building it in sections or modular rooms/hallways.
that way it can be safely stored on shelves or in storage containers when not in use.

I don't know about walkers in hallways. They would have to be some pretty big hallways.

Yes this would be fantastic. I have a set of Space Hulk that you can use if need be for terrain.

The reason they are not likely to be used is not due to size but importance.
They are Ancient Warriors who are revered and given the greatest respect.
You'd never see the Army send Gen. Patton in a lone tank to spearhead a mission into in-city fighting.
(Yes, he'd know the best way to hit it, but in that environment he would be taken out. His knowledge & tactics lost.)
In regards to size they definitely would be able to fit due to the sheer size of the vessels in 40K.
40K runs on a scale vastly different from what most of us think of for space vessels.
Here are a couple of Sci-Fi references for comparison:
Star Trek Next Gen - The Enterprise NCC 1701-D (Galaxy Class) was the Flagship of the Federation and is listed as having around 900 crewmen.
40K - The Cobra Class Imperial Escort (one of the smallest regular models in BFG) is listed as having around 18,000 crewmen.
Star Wars - The Death Star is the ONLY known vessel with the power to destroy a planet in one shot.
40K - Abaddon's Flagship "Planet Killer" (Battleship Class) can also destroy a planet in a single shot. But even his ship is outclassed by the firepower of 2 or more Blackstone Fortresses (Space Stations) Three force a Star to go Nova! Fluff also mentions that Necron have massive Disk Worlds (like a Dyson's Sphere) & Tomb worlds that are mobile.

Re: Just a though
Tsk tsk no one remembers us poor Eldar. Need I remind you that we fly around on ships that are not only the size of planets but ACT as planets? I'm sure we could fit a walker somewhere on it. And as far as walkers being revered or what ever, thats just a silly Marine fascination. We don't worship our walkers, we arm them with missile launchers and blow your idols to bits.
