Terrain builders wanted

Post  Papa Nurgle on Sun Jan 24, 2010 1:52 pm

I'd like to see who we have on here that is willing and or able to build terrain. As most of you know, the terrain at Comix Zone has been taking a beating and is need of repair. We are still looking for terrain builders to go to Walt's and work on terrain there as well. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

-Chuck

I'll have a go at repairs and maybe some redesigns or what ever. But it would have to be at Comix Zone if theres a time.

Just remember no super glue on pink foam. Foam + Superglue = ruined.

During this time of repairs may I make a rather drastic suggestion that may clear things up in the long run. I suggest removing the block terrain from the bases of the stone and ice boards. It was meant to be blocking or elevated terrain and the bases only add confusion by making them area terrain instead. It would make things simpler for 40k and there's enough other terrain pieces to provide area terrain or difficult terrain for 40k as well as Lord and War of the Rings. What it would do to Fantasy I don't know. Just a suggestion. Opinions?

I only half agree with your sugestion.
It would be less confusing to remove the blocks from the bases. However Area terrain is still needed!
I would suggest making area terrain from the bases you wish to remove the blocks from in theme with the board they were designed for. (ie. Ice area terrain)

I concur. Forgot to put that part in. Those boards were seriously lacking area terrain anyway. Plus why waste those plates right? I can even think of some ideas. Maybe for the ice plates we could come up with something that looks like jagged pieces of ice coming out of the ground that a model could theoretically get cover behind. Or maybe make it look like the ice is cracking over water so it counts as dangerous terrain as someone could slip into the frozen water? Same for the gray board with rocks and lava. Maybe some more bunkers that match their boards?

The sad thing is that bloated bubbles & sticky piles of gummy ooze would work for both Nurgle & Tyranid

It's no wonder Chuck likes it
