The DOOOOOOOM of Malan'tai

Post  mentalkombat on Mon Apr 12, 2010 2:41 pm

I'm making a conversion to my older model zoanthrope (the one where you have to attach it's helmet, which I didn't like, personally, so I never attached it), and so far it is going well. However, I seem to have misplaced my Green Stuff and cannot finish the conversion and it's driving me crazy. Is there anything I can use in lieu of that? I have no money or car. I have playdough. Would that work? Prolly not. Any suggestions would be awesome.

You can use epoxy putty that is stiff.

If not try using paper mache.

You might be in luck if there is anyone in the house who is a crafter. Many of the "Female Crafts" (scrap-booking, Ooak, sewing) will have some supplies that carry over nicely for miniature use.

(Even Nail glue is a variation on super glue)

One such supply that might fit your needs is "Sculpey." It is a play-dough/clay like substance that can be molded & shaped then you bake it to harden & make your shape permanent. then glue it on the model.

Other options are "Handy Men" & "Car Nuts" both have solutions:
Handy DIY-ers may have "Plumber's Putty" or 2-part Epoxy putty. Although the colors are different this IS Green Stuff.

Car nuts may have "Bondo" or "Tiger Hair" both will do the job but are hard to work with & take forever to dry & harden.
