Flames of War is a WWII miniature game.

The rules are similar enough to 40K that most people have little problem adapting.

The models are smaller than Warhammer 40K. And are about 2-3 times larger than Epic Armageddon models
The models are well made & cover Early, Mid & Late War units.

Hey there, I am the "guy willing to run the demo". Flames of war is a 15mm miniatures game based around the second world war. currently the game covers mid and late war forces, Early war should be rolling out in the next year or so. I will be more than happy to answer any questions anyone might have.

Cool by me. You didn't perchance just move heere and have no one to play with did you? I talked to someone who did. I think he was from Pennsylvania. ( I spelled it without spellcheck. Be proud.)

well there appears to be some interest so I will start preparing to run some demos. I am able to run a few different lists and would like some input as to what people would like to see or play. If anyone would like I will be happy to come down to Walts hobby or comix zone with the books and let you guys look them over and get an idea of whats available.

at this point I plan on coming down to walts Monday night with at the very least the books and some stuff for anyone interested to check out. I have a fairly open schedule these days and am open to going where ever someone wants to check out the game with reasonable notice.

I'll give you a heads up on Comix Zone to minimize any headaches over space.
Attendance, has grown since the start of the Club. Due to this they have a table priority rule on nights that assigned to specific games.

Tuesday & Wednesdays are Open Gaming with no table priority.

ANY game is welcome on ANY night, but when it gets crowded on dedicated nights, that game has the right to ask to use the table.
(Rarely is this enforced, but when it is, It can be upsetting)

Also, ANY GAME has table priority over "STUFF" (miniature cases, coats, bins, food, etc.)

Thanks for the heads up, though its exactly what I would expect. I only mentioned comix zone because after speaking with a couple guys at Walts last Monday I got the impression that that's the place most people go, and I am not stuck on one place over the other. Mike at Walts has been very enthusiastic about this and has been a great help in getting me introduced to some local people and made me feel very much at home there, as such I will be attempting to do as much as possible there but am willing to go to comix zone as well. I have not yet spoken with anyone there and I am not even sure FOW would be welcome there as its not a product they stock.

Myself, Mark & Chuck all game @ Comix Zone as well. I have yet to game @ Walt's for the simple fact my wife would kill me if I add another night of gaming. Wink

I did look into FoW when it was first released, but moved out of state for a few years & never got into it. But I too would enjoy learning it.

As for Comix Zone, it wold not be a problem, We currently have a GW RPG running on occasion, Blood Bowl, and even the Axis & Allies Board game (which they don't not carry any of.)

CZ does carry an axis and allies version. But you are correct that they do not carry the others.
