I have an idea

I have recantly noticed that i barely know anyone in the club, i know the few important people and a couple of friends but a large majority i have no i dea whoi they are. So i was sparked by a post on dakkadakka i think that is would be a cool idea to create a space marine chapter for the whole club, each persone coul dhelp in whatever way they most enjoy the hobbie. Some could make the lore others could model and/or paint. of each menmber could make there own squad, and basicly make a sagrents history and such, and basicly make it so people can sort of have something that the whole club can get togther with. and i think it would be a great way to get the whole club working togther on something. and we could have people actually assume the roles that the chapter would have, and could make that something intersting, like a tourment to decide who the chapter master would be, and he could then decide how the army would be made up of something, units wise that is, and we could also do it with many other armys, like make our own imperal guard company or our own warband. the ideas are endless, any input or ideas would be great and just tell me what you think about it, it is still a rough idea, i only worked out a few of the details.

I can totally get behind this idea. Next time you are in the store, and you see me, come talk to me.

First question: Order or Disorder?

i was thinking order, simply because they have a fairly simple rule set, but i think it could be something that the whole club could vote on.

Ok, second question:

If we go Order do we want them
A) Codex: like the Ultramaines, Salamandars, Storm Lords, Marines Errant, etc.
B) Varriant: like Wolves, Angels of Absolution, Angels Sanguine, Black Templar, ect.
OR
C) Renegade: Chapters that skirt the edge (sometimes stepping over) what is acceptable by the Imperium, Like the Relictors, Flesh Tearers, Mantis Warriors, Black Dragons, Lamentors, Etc.

The same can be asked of Disorder:
Chaos Undivided: Black Legion, Night lords
Chaos - specific following: Death Guard, Emperors Children
Chaos - Pre/During Heresy: Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus
Renegade: Astral Claws/Red Corsairs

The options are limitless!


Personally I'd like us to look at the lesser know chapters that took part in some of the Major 40K wars that haven't beaten to death.
ie: if Armageddon go with the 1st war, The Damocles Gulf Crusade, The Gothic War, etc.

I'd say the chapter master is who ever is elected because A good general is nothing if no one wants to follow him. And if it's going to be a vote for order or disorder why bother since 2/3 of the club is disorder lol. I'm good At coming up with symbols And color schemes.

Chuck & I had a thought today...

How does this sound? The Chapter we create is deemed "Renegade" by the Imperium & on the verge of being "Excommunicated". Due to (some suitable reason we stick in the fluff) Bad behavior.

However the Chapter isn't ALL Bad, Just following orders of a commanding officer (D.I.Y. Special Character)

We thought of a few options we can run with so everyone can play the army if they wish Regardless of a preference to Order/Disorder

A) Pre & Post "Final Straw Action" with 1 Order list & one Disorder list.
(Much like how the Astral claws became the Red Corsairs after the Badab War)

B) Repentant/Forgiven: Chapter went bad but after the Defeat/Death of the Bad influence they are forgiven & must make amends.
(similar to the Mantis Warriors & Lamentors)
This would use one list but have a special Character that replaces Chapter Tactics (with his Bad influence effect).

C) Split Loyalties: Chapter has 2 Special Characters, 1 Good, 1 Bad. Each influences the models around them. The army can be played Good with the 1st, Bad with the 2nd, Or...
With both in the same army! (Having both would lessen the effect of each other in some way)

I LIKE IT! We should have a get together some night at the store where all interest members some in with their ideas. Just my 2 cents. WE could even do a thing where everyone comes up with a paint scheme and we vote on it as a club contest? 2 cents again. I think that would be cool.
